Hardwick Moat Weddings Open Day- April 2021

We welcomed back couples and their families to our second open day in April. After some improvements to the site including new pathways, outdoor seating areas with firepits, planting trees, shrubs and seeding even more wildflower (to name but a few), we were especially excited for the extension of our beautiful sail cloth marquee, bringing a brand new bay for a larger, more brighter venue!

Our 1950’s Massey Ferguson tractor was waiting for our guests at the bottom of the track when they arrived. Couples had a chance of experiencing our unique chauffeur ride to the venue in our traditional Beaters Wagon, taking in the views of unspoiled countryside and crop fields that surrounded them. With the visiting Kite’s circling the air above, the first signs of the marquees flying flags appeared as we approach the top of the hill, from there our couples saw for the first time this stunning structure and the secluded grounds it sat upon.

Pulling up to the entrance and being introduced to the team, couples enjoyed a welcome glass of bubbly before being shown around the venue. Our amazing suppliers dressed the venue in white with beautiful green foliage. Tables were set with classy vintage crockery, candelabras and gorgeous flower arrangements. Lanterns were suspended from the poles, along with festoon lighting throughout. Props, cake stands, lounging area and dancefloor completed the look, and our brand new handmade bar (thanks to our very handy, business partner Joe) stood proud and inviting on the sidelines. Outside on the paddock were displays of garden games, just one example of the many possibilities with this space.

Across the bridge from the marquee paddock to our glamping village,  lead a pathway to the picnic area. Complete with benches and firepits perfect for breaky in the morning! The glamping site can fit up to 25 bell tents, and if you’re not a fan of camping yet, you will be when you see this tents! These spacious and cosy tipis are like a home from home, with double beds and comfy bedding, bedside tables and furnishings that will make you will forget you’re outside at all. Situated in the middle of the village stands an historic cattle barn, soon to be home to our runner ducks, which the four of us have hatched and reared ourselves with love!

After a fantastic day with our couples we were excited to announce the winners for our “Win a Wedding Competition”! Running from our first open day back in September 2020, we had over 40 entries and were over the moon for our extremely excited couple who won!

We thank everyone who joined us and are honored to be hosting all of these wonderful 2021 and 2022 weddings! They are going to be weddings to remember and we can’t wait for the day!

Thanks again- From Kelly and the team!

Discovering Hardwick

All four team members from Hardwick Moat weddings have worked in the wedding industry, collectively for over 10 years. We are a family run business made up of two brothers and their Fiancée’s. We had spent the past few years working flat out during the wedding season providing marquee structures, mobile bar services and photography packages and knew we could come together with our expertise and experiences to create the perfect wedding venue.

After a while of searching for the perfect location, we got speaking with a local farmer who kindly offered to show us around his farm. Over 400 acres to choose from was slightly overwhelming and then we stumbled across Hardwick Moat. From over 40 years of growth, out poked the roof line of the old barn. We jumped out the car and walked around the front of the moat area on a miserable October morning. Even on the most miserable autumn day the views across the fields towards the woodlands was breath-taking with not a single building or power line in site. The whole site was completely secluded and we knew this what it! Yes the site needed lots of work, turns out far more than we ever anticipated but standing in this same spot today, a year on, it was so worth all the pain, sweat, rain (lots of that) endless hours and investment. Hardwick moat weddings views never fails to wow our visitors!

We look forward to showing you around- From Katy and the team!

Welcome!

Welcome to our new website, we hope you enjoy the site as much as we did making it!
